electrovalent or ionic compounds have strong intermolecular force.so it is not easy to break bond between atoms.

The electrovalent compounds have dosent have strong electro satatic force between their atoms. So it can easily gain or loss ions ,So it has high boiling and melting point. while Covalent Compunds have stronger inter molecular forces between their ions So it has low boiling and melting point.
