Similarities between mitochondria and bacteria:

Mitochondria are basically called as power house of the cell. They are crucial because they are energy producer. They also resemble to certain bacteria in features. They have their own cell membrane similar like prokaryotic cell. The circular genomic DNA is similar in both bacterial and mitochondrial cell, slightly differing in size. The DNA of the nucleus works in similar manner by both the organelles to produce the various protein and enzymes.
