Let mass of hydrogen and oxygen be 100g
Let n1 be no.of moles of hydrogen
n2 be no. of moles of oxygen
n1 =100/2 = 50
n2 =100/32 = 3.125
Contribution of hydrogen to the total pressure means, mole fraction of hydrgen present in the mixture, which is also the partial pressure of H2
x1 is the mole fraction of hydrogen,
x1 = 50/(50+3.125)
= 0.94
If P is the total pressure, then contribution of H2 is 0.94P
