let the altitude be x than base equal to 2x

now according to question
area=altitude×base
18=x×2x
18=2x^2
18/2=x^2
9=x^2
x=sq.root(9)
x=3 and -3
we take x=3 because distance is always positive.

so altitude=3
base =2×3=6

Ratio = 1:2
Therefore Let height be x and base be 2x.
Given is that area = 18sqm.

Area of a Parellogram = Base × Height
18 = 2x \times x
 = 18 = {2x}^{2}
 = 18 \div 2 = {x}^{2}
9 = {x}^{2}
x = 3
Therefore height of the parallelogram = 3m
And Base of the parallelogram = 3 × 2 = 6m
