Diwali is a religious festival of Hindus, initially; this function began with Dhanteras, following by chhoti Diwali and then the proper Diwali. On this day people wear new dresses and celebrate this function by giving sweets and presents to their dear ones. The preparation of Diwali began weeks before the day. People used to clean their homes and decorate it with candles, fairy lights, and diyas etc. People use to worship Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi.
The advantages of this festival include the fact that people meet their friends and relatives to celebrate the festival. They spend much time together. The mustard oil used in the diyas for lightning purifies the environment by killing the pests.
There are some of the disadvantages of this function, for instance, the burning of the firecrackers become one major contributor to air pollution. Moreover, a little carelessness while burning the crackers can cause much damage to life and property.
