Answer:

Both at the same time, if it’s too much so would become bitter.

When there’s a challenge, if you wanted to succeed, you must be better at whatever the challenge is about. And sometimes, it makes you try to develop some other traits too. That’s the reason why we see improvements from people who challenge themselves.

But when it’s too much….

I presume that you have heard about “too stressed to focus”, some people have experienced this. But for me, I have never experienced that before. In my situation, I would feel tired and want to sit right there all day without doing anything else and don’t want to think of anything. I would not even try to focus. (I sounded lazy, right?) That’s when I become bitter. My head would only think about how to win, which is not good. I’m normally not competitive. It’s like I had lost myself. I seemed to dislike or even hate everyone who were competing with me. Including my friends. Competition and challenge are not ‘my’ everything and I forgot it.

Everyone became bitter towards each other. We wanted to win and succeed too much.

In my opinion, it’s good when we join it and think ‘I am going to be a better person’ or ‘I want to win, but if I couldn’t win, it’s fine’ not ‘Every one is my rivals’

Some people may wonder, why did you take part in the challenge if you don’t care about winning?

Again, it’s not ‘my’ everything. It could be someone’s everything but not mine. For some people it’s necessary to win because it’s their career, they are proving themselves…. etc . We all have different reasons.

However, one of the most important things is to be able to accept the truth when failing. That’s all.
