Plant and animal hormones differ in the way they are made and how they are transported throughout the organism.
In both plant and animal, hormones function as chemical communicators. They coordinate and regulate many activities such as direction of tissue growth and fruit production in plants and development and reproduction in animals.
Plants, unlike animals, don't have the glands that produce and secrete hormones. Each plant cell is able to produce hormones.
Animals are different. Large, complicated animals have special endocrine glands to produce hormones while the less complex species produce them in nerve cells or tissues. These animal hormones then travel via the circulatory system (bloodstream) to get to far-reaching parts of the organism.
