Answer:

Rampant Use of Antibiotics — A Threat To Life

Antibiotics are medicines which help in curing infections; they either kill bacteria or stop their growth. The body’s own immune system is enough to fight bacteria; but in certain cases bacteria can be too many to be handled by the WBCs. Antibiotics are quite helpful in such a scenario.

There are many side effects associated with use of antibiotics. The most unpleasant side effect is resistance. Overuse of antibiotics leads to bacteria becoming resistant to drugs leading to further complications.

There are other side-effects also such as diarrhea, nausea, stomach upset, kidney stones, etc. The antibiotics should be taken in consultation with medical experts only.

Antibiotics are not a real threat to life as such. They should be used very carefully and under the guidance of qualified doctors.
