Tourism mainly exists in places which are rich in either cultural and historical forms or consists of entertainment in various forms.
Thane is a suburb of Mumbai, i.e. located on Salsette Island surrounded by the Yeoor and Parsik Hills. This suburb is divided by the Thane creek that drains into the Arabian Sea.
Although the culture is predominantly Maharashtrian considering the area, people may witness the influences of the cosmopolitan culture of Mumbai as well. This place has scope of tourism in regard to its historical significance of railway. It was the first railway in India built from Mumbai in 1853.
It consists of numerous beautiful lakes, the most famous being the Masunda Talao, also known as Talao Pali. It is also home to the Tikuji-Ni-Wadi Water park which consists of classic rides & food supporting the entertainment for youngsters. There are several amusement park with modern and traditional rides like bumper cars & concessions. This helps in attracting the tourists.
