PT ma'am: Sanvi, you're again late.

Me: sorry ma'am

PT ma'am: what sorry! you are late constantly for a week now. You're in class 10th still so late. Today you'll be punished.

Me: no ma'am I am sorry. Please leave me today. I promise that from tomorrow if I'm late again I'll do 100 sit-ups and also stand holding my ears for the rest of the day in your chambers.

PT ma'am: Ok fine! but remember your promise and you have to do full punishment

The next day

PT ma'am: Sanvi, again late! Now I should not tell you what to do next or you know what will happen.

I knew that the best thing for me to do at that moment was to do as I promised earlier so I did 100 sit-ups and she led me to her chambers and I stood there holding my ears for half day and later she told me to leave and also said that if I'm late again then I'll have to complete my punishments. She's a kind lady. She almost never punishes late comers but sometimes she did so and that's Why I never took her seriously but that day she was very angry and now I realised the importance of punctuality and was never late again. Later when I asked her why she left me without completing the punishment as most of the teachers in our school doesn't leave children until and unless they complete the full punishment(I was not punished many times but whenever I did, I tried asking forgiveness but the teachers never forgives me or any of the students even if they realise their mistake), she told me that she knew that I realised my mistake and the importance of punctuality because that was visible on my face and the main purpose of punishment should be to make a student realise her mistake and not to make them complete it.
