This Russian proverb has been proved true countless times. Power and money reign supreme. In fact, money has become synonymous with superiority, royalty, influence and of course, corruption.
It is no less than the ultimate God to some people, who worship the faces on the currency notes! While we all have great respect for Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, my firm belief is that our respect should extend only up to his acts and lifestyle, not further up to the notes his face is printed on.
Everything in our world has become money oriented. I do not simply refer to India, but most other countries too. Money has always been immortal; for example, the demonetization organised by our respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi certainly brought about a slight change in the black market scams going on in India, but nevertheless, its power still stands.

One need not go deep to find out the truth of why money is a potent weapon today. As a matter of fact, it has always been so. The mighty has ever ruled though its form has kept on changing. The poor and the weak stand helplessly, when the rich wield their power. Ideals of truth and honesty is a thing of the past. Plundering the nation by unscrupulous politicians, killing and extortions by their henchmen are the order of the day. Which corrupt politician has been convicted and jailed? The poor are being crushed daily under the heels of justice.
The ill-starred human beings with no money are stuffed into prisons. It is not the indictment of the legal system. This reality speaks of the power of money that gags the truth. “Satya Meva Jayate” is the chief good of life and it, of course, pays when one has lost everything. Power-play in international, national and even in the social and domestic spheres is evident. Money lends glory to man’s life, though for a moralist, it may be transient.
