Consumption of even small amounts of methyl alcohol can be quite dangerous. It can destroy our cells and also cause blindness. Hope it helps.

when you consume methanol first of all it reaches to your liver where it gets oxidized to methanal which leads to blindness or death of the person consuming it whereas ethanol in minute quantities can be consumed by people but if taken in large quantities it can also lead to serious health issues
