To encourage Indian education Indian leaders started many schools and in that they brought out many different subjects so as to gain knowledge they also encouraged women education and promoted there well being they themselves taught in different fields.

the efforts made by Indian leaders to improve Indian education are as follows-

1. Mahatma Gandhi introduced Wardha Education Scheme in 1937 which would inculcate morals like Truth, goodness, honesty and the sense of self respect and dignity.

2. Swami Dayanand opened Arya samaj society of novels at Mumbai and later at Lahore.

3. sree Narayana constructed antonette temples and propagated for one God, one caste and one religion.

4. jyotiba phule campaigned for the removal of untouchability and upliftment of lower caste.

5. veeresalingam kandukuri write a novel ,drama, books on natural sciences and history in Telugu. he wrote Abhagyopakhyanamu , a humorous satire on the Andhra society. He started a magazine title vivekavardhini in which he propagated women's education ,widow remarriage and the rights of women. he was the first writer to write prose for women he opposed Kanyasulkam and marriage of old man with young girls.
