First of all, what is a chemical reaction? Is it known to you? If not, then you should know that a chemical reaction is the process of breaking the chemical bonds of the reacting substances (reactants) and making new bonds to form new substances (products).

For example, H2 + Cl2 ------> 2HCl

Now, change of state refers to the process of conversion of one state of matter to another state of matter. In many chemical reactions, a change of state is observed. The reaction might start with gaseous or liquid reactants but it will end up with a solid product and vice-versa.

Example : Ammonia gas reacts with hydrogen chloride gas to produce solid ammonium chloride.

NH3 (g) + HCl (g) = NH4Cl (s)

The chemical reaction is the reaction that depicts the formation of Products at varied conditions and temperatures.

Explanation:

1.Evolution of gas:

The reaction between zinc and dilute acid is characterized by the evolution of hydrogen gas.

Zn(s)+H2SO4(aq)---ZnSO3(aq)+H(g)

2.Change in colour:

The reaction between the lead nitrate solution and iodide solution.

Pb(NO3)2(aq)+2KI→PbI2(s)+2KNO3(aq)

In this reaction colour changes from colourless to yellow.

3.Formation of precipitate:

The action of Barium Chloride on sodium sulfate.

BaCl2(aq)+Na2SO4(aq)→BaSO4(s)+2KNaCl(aq)

4.Change in temperature:

The action of dilute vitriol on zinc:

Zn(s)+H2SO4(aq)→ZnSO4(s)+H2(g)

In this reaction, heat is evolved.

5.Change within the state:

When the wax is burnt within the style of the wax candle then water and CO2 are formed. Wax is solid, water may be a liquid whereas greenhouse gas could be a gas.
