Tetra atomic molecules are those which are formed with the reaction of four molecules. These molecules can be of one particular element or can be of more than one element.

Examples of tetra atomic molecules are:

a. \mathrm{P}_{4,}\ \mathrm{N}_{4} (4 molecules of same element)

b. \mathrm{NH}_{3}, \mathrm{SO}_{3} (4 molecules of two elements)

c. \mathrm{CN}_{2} \mathrm{O}, \mathrm{BFN}_{2}, \mathrm{B}_{2} \mathrm{F}_{2} (4 molecules of three elements)

Tetra atomic molecules are very stable and the compounds produced after their reaction like certain isomers are also very stable in nature.
