The executive department of the government is headed by the Governor as the Governor is the constitutional Head of the government.

A Governor has the authority to eradicate a government on counts of misconducts and also has the right to grant pardon to a convict at the state level.

Though for all intents and purposes, the government is headed by the chief minister who has all powers vested in him for carrying out the day to day operations of the government.
