Answer:

AC = 8.25

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

AD = 2.5cm, DB = 3cm, AE = 3.75cm

To Find: AC

Solution:

According to BASIC PROPORTIONALITY THEOREM if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle intersecting the other two sides, then it divides the two sides in the same ratio.

In ΔABC, DE || BC.

AD = AE

AB AC

2.5 = AE

2.5 + 3 AC

2.5 = 3.75

5.5 AC

2.5 × AC = 3.75 × 5.5

2.5 × AC = 20.625

AC = 20.625

2.5

AC = 8.25
