While much is used to describe noncountable elements, many is used to describe countable.

  • Much can be used for items such as rice, soup, patience etc, while many can be used for shoes, socks all plural items.
  • The correct sentences are -

1. How many kilograms of rice did you buy?

2. How much did the rice cost you?

3. Did you require many bags to carry the rice?

4. Many of the bags were not strong enough to carry the weight of the rice.

5. Much rice was wasted on the way itself.
