(I) (3x+ 1/3x ) ²

= (3x)²+ (1/3x)² + 2(3x)(1/3x)

= 9x² + 1/9x² + 2

(II) (2x- 1/2x)²

= (2x)²+(1/2x)²-2(2x)(1/2x)

= 4x² + 1/4x² - 2
