                                Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Tim Hiller has quite appropriately said, “External actions are evidence of internal beliefs. Our deeds are what show our creeds.” This axiom actually is a universal truth; a fact that each one of us uses to form our belief about someone. There are only three types of people: a) those who use words only; b) those who act more than they speak; c) those who talk wisdom after the experience of actions.

The first category consists of people who are talking all the time about their goals, dreams, idle gossip, and beat so much about the bush. When it comes to actual achievement they are always ready with ‘SORRIES’ or ‘APOLOGIES’. The second category comprises of those people who are highly inspired and extremely passionate about their goals and dreams. They are so much in love with their success that they are ready to sacrifice any distraction and overcome any obstacle. They don’t fear any grinding training that is required before the skill acquisition. Now, the men and women belonging to this second category are the men and women of action. They talk less’ listen more; and do more; so naturally they achieve more.

The third category consists of members from the second category only. Acting, working, grinding, learning through trial and error they reach such a high level of skill and perfection that excellence happens by default. Leonardo Da Vinci, Shakespeare, Newton, Einstein, Khalil Gibran, Lincoln, Helen Keller, etc. belong to this class. They not only do much, they talk also so much. But unlike the mere gibberish of the gossip, they talk the insightful wisdom only. Then each action done by them; each word spoken by them is light of inspiration.

If you ever dare to walk on the success journey, strive to emulate either the second category or the third category. Avoid by all means the first category of those who just talk hollowly.

Dr. Steve Maraboli has beautifully said: “The universe doesn’t give you what you ask for with your thoughts; it gives you what you demand with your actions.” I strongly believe actions are more important than thoughts in any case.

Explanation:

Mahatma Gandhi is probably the most noteworthy example here. This man did a huge contribution to Indian independence through his actions. Furthermore, his actions like non-violence, non-cooperation, civil disobedience, supporting farmers, supporting oppressed people made a huge impact. He was not one of those who only made grand speeches. Rather, he was a man who stood by what he said.

The soldiers of our country India form another suitable example. Most noteworthy, these soldiers risk their lives every day for the nation’s security. Unlike many politicians who only make speeches, these soldiers actually do something meaningful. Moreover, these soldiers work selflessly without any desire for fame. Certainly, many people will never know their names.

In conclusion, the proverb “action speaks louder than words” is a valuable life lesson. Furthermore, when an individual uses words, it is much easier to lie. However, an action strongly correlates with what one wants and believes. Actions certainly speak the truth.
