1-Glycolysis- process of glycolysis occurs in cytoplasm . a molecule of glucose is oxidised step by step in this process and two molecules of each pyruvic acid , adenosine triphosphate ,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and Flavin adenine dinucleotide and water are formed .
molecules of pyruvic acid formed in this process are converted into molecules of acetyl coenzyme a . 2 molecules of Nadh2 and co2 molecules of seo2 are released during this process

2- tricarboxylic acid or krebs cycle
both molecules of acetyl coenzyme a enter into the mitochondria .cyclic chain of reactions called as tricarboxylic acid cycle is operated on it in the mitochondria .acetyl part of acetyl coenzyme a is completely oxidised through the cyclic process and molecules of carbon dioxide hydrogen nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and flavin adenine dinucleotide are derived

3-electron transport chain
molecules of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and flavin adenine dinucleotide formed during all above processes participate in electron transfer chain reaction . due to this 3 molecules of ATP are obtained from each in nadh2 two molecules and two molecules of ATP from each Fadh2 molecule . Water molecules are also formed. this chain is operated in mithochondria only.
