- A plane is a flat surface. So a plane mirror is just a smooth, mirrored surface that is completely flat. This stops the image you see from being distorted. The opposite of this might be a fun-house mirror, where the various bends and shapes can make the image look ridiculous. They are curved
- Plane mirrors produce images that have same size as the object while curved mirrors such as convex and concave mirrors produce images that are diminished and magnified.
- The plane mirror produces images that are upright while curved mirror such as concave may produce an upturned (upside down) image when looked from far away from the mirror.
- Plane mirrors are used as rear view mirrors when convex and concave mirrors are used as car wing mirror and dentist mirror or cosmetic mirror
