burn a candle and put a inverted transparent vessel and see that the flame is not visible it proves that air is necessary for combustion.

i now one experiment .that is
◆take 1 empty glass or cup.
◆and usually take 2 candles
◆light the candles
◆ now close one candle with glass or cup
◆leave another candle freely
◆observe for a while
◆ we can say that the candle which is covered by glass or cup will stop burning because air doesn't help to combustion.
◆ then,the candle which is freely is continuously burned
so we can say that air is necessary for combustion..
