Economic causes of French Revolution are as follows :--
(a) Louis XVI’ s luxurious lifestyle and long years of war drained the financial resources of France.
(b) To meet its regular expenses such as the cost of maintaining army and running the administration the state was forced to increase taxes. But this did not solve the problem as only members of the third estate paid taxes.
(c) The French population rapidly increased and this led to a shortage of food grains. The price of bread which was the staple diet of the people rose rapidly.
(d) The wages did not rise as rapidly and the gap between the rich and the poor widened.
(e) Droughtsor hail destroyed the crops which led to a subsistence crisis.

The causes of French revolution can be attributed to several intertwining factors:
cultural: The enlightenment philosophy desacraliszed the authority of the monarchy and the catholic church, and promoted a new society based on reason instead of tradition.
Hope this works.☺
