the consumer rights under the consumer protection act 1986 are

  • Right to safety-while using or buying some products we as consumers have the right to be protected against the marketing of goods and delivery of goods that are hazardous to life and property.
  • right to choose-as consumers we have the right to choose the product of our choice from the various choices provided by the various companies.
  • right to be informed-this right says that consumers have the right to be informed about the details of the product such as the date of manufacture, expiry date, toll free numbers and etc.
  • right to seek redressal-if there is a damage in the product the consumers have the right to ask for compensation or payback of money from the shopkeeper.
  • right to consumer education-the consumers should be aware of all the rights and in case of any damage to them they shold know how to use these rights in a proper way.
