Ho chi Minh trail formed the backbone of the Vietnamese in their struggle for freedom, unification and during US attack.
I means an immense network of footpaths and roads used by Vietnamese to transport men and material from North to South.
Most of the trail was outside Vietnam in neighbouring Laos and Cambodia with branch lines extending into South Vietnam.
The trail had support bases ,and hospitals along the way.
At times and in some parts supplies were transported in trucks but mostly it was mostly used by women porters. These women carried loads on their backs or on their bicycles.
