The hierarchy of the sciences is a theory formulated by Auguste Comte in the 19th century. This theory states that science develops over time beginning with the simplest and most general scientific discipline, astronomy, which is the first to reach the "positive stage" (one of three in Comte's law of three stages).

The First person to develop the theory of "sociology" was Auguste Comte. He established sociology as a progressive science. Positivism is the quest for invariant demands of the physical and material world. Comte's views have had a significant role in promoting fundamental functionalism. The Science-based upon consciousness is described as History, creativity is poetry and design is Physics, Chemistry, etc. Comte systematized consciousness on the foundation of observation of the experimental or accurate level of humanistic thinking. Comte articulated the matter of sociology is the “crowning edifice” of the bureaucracy of sciences.
