Pasteur filled some bottles with soup. He took some into the hotel bedroom where the air was hardly changed, broke their necks so that air could enter and then resealed them.
He took some bottles to a field nearby and repeated the procedure. He finally went to the top of the mountain and did the same.
When the bottles were examined and later on
it was found that soup in the bottles kept in the hotel bedroom had gone completely mouldy but not quite so bad.
But the bottles kept in the mountain had no germs at all.
This experiment proved that Pure air is different from Stale air.
