1. Centralisation of administration- The centralisation of administration established uniform currency system, common laws, judicial structure which helped in rise of national consciousness.  

2. Economic exploitation- British exploited all the classes of Indians very badly which generated a nationwide outrage against them.  

3. Western Education- The modern education brought about changes in people’s thought and they started to exchange their views easily.  

4. Study of Ancient Indian History- Some of the Indian Scholars started to study Ancient Indian History which revived past glory and generated sense of self confidence among people.  

5. Role of newspaper- Many nationalist used print media to generate nationalism.  

All this together contributed in establishment of Indian national congress.
