Causes of Poverty in India. High population growth rate is one of major reasons of poverty in India. This further leads to high level of illiteracy, poor health care facilities and lack of access to financial resources. Also, high population growth affects the per capita income and makes per capita income even lower.

debrock: politics... because of poor politicians ruling this country any benefits are not reachable to the poor citizens of the country.the plans of the current government only favors the rich .2.negligance... people of our country are ready to pay any amount to anyone inorder to complete their work.... they dont think about they are affecting the entire system...bribe .. .as long as there is no end for bribe in our country there wont be any sustainable development which leads to poverty
