It is a property by virtue of which gases are able to move through gases of another kind.
when a bottle of some perfume is opened in one corner of a room, it's fragrance us perceptible in all parts of the room even when the intervening air is at rest. Such a spontaneous interminging of two gases is termed diffusion.
In diffusion process a gas spreads out through another gas to occupy the larger space uniformly.
