Manure is a natural substance prepared by the decomposition of animal excreta and plant wastes. They can be organic or inorganic in nature. Manure provides humus to the soil and increases soil fertility.

A Fertiliser is any material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soils or to plant tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants.

Difference between fertilizers and manures-

Manure-

\implies Manure is a natural substance obtained by the decomposition of cattle dung and plant residues.

\implies Manure can be prepared in the field.

\implies Manure provides a lot humus to the soil.

\implies Manure is relatively less rich in plant nutrients.

Fertilizers-

\implies Fertilizer is a man- made inorganic salt.

\implies Fertiliser is prepared in factories.

\implies Fertilizer doesn't provide any humus to the soil.

\implies Fertilizers are very rich in plant nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
