carbon di oxide is not important for us because it is one of the cause for ozone layer deplition.
But ozone layer protects us from the ultra violet rays(UV rays) which is harmful for our skin and also a cause of skin cancer.

carbon di oxides are helpful for us in many kind as we take oxygen and give carbon dioxyde plants have a reverse issue they take oxygen and release carbon dioxyde as this gas helps the plants in there living process and if there will be no plants how the balance of gases will be there . the oxygen goes decreasing the carbon dioxyde goes increasing
ozone layer deflects the harmful ultravoilets rays comes from sun which is very harmful for us as it can cause many problems like skin disease , melting of glaciers etc.
