Social divisions affect politics in a number of ways. The social divisions might become political divisions and can lead to conflicts and distrust in the society. However, it is not necessary that such politics in social divisions will lead to conflicts in the society. The weaker social sections get to voice their opinion and get better opportunities in future which would help them grow. There are many countries where political parties focus only on one social group and yet it does not lead to conflicts and tensions in the society.

For Example : Northern Ireland and Yugoslavia.

social divisions affect politics by following ways ÷

1.The formation of political party ÷ the political party forms their party on the basis of social division , they form party on the name of a single group for example BSP it is formed on the basis of bahujan samaj.

2.The selection of candidate ÷ the political party select their candidate for a constituency on the basis of social division,they see which group of caste have major votes and select the candidate for election of that group.

3.voting on the basis of social division - the voters votes or select the rulers not on their work rather than the selected the rulers belonging to their community.

4.Formation of ministers-- the political party which wins the election forms the minister of each community so that they can create sympathy from all community.

also political party for winning election increases the social division by creating believe that their community will gain more power when the party win election
