An aperture in the center of iris is called pupil.
A principal function of iris is to regulate the amount of light entering eye through pupil.
The diameter of the pupil is regulated by the smooth muscle fibers of iris.
Iris consists of circular and radial smooth muscle fibers.
These responses are autonomic reflexes.
