Ursa Major looks like a spoon. So, on the opposite of the handle of this spoon, you can locate two stars namely Dubhe and Merak.

Now simply draw an imaginary line from Merak to Dubhe (*where Dubhe is the last star*) and extends it further in the same direction. The first bright star you come to will be Pole Star.
