The light sensitive cells gets activated upon illumination and generate electrical signals .

These signals are sent to the brain via the optic nerve.

The brain interprets these signals and finnallly ,processes the information ,so that we perceive objects as they are.

Solution:

  • When light falls on the eye, the light sensitive cells (photoreceptors) get activated.
  • Then, they start generation of electrical signals.
  • These signals are then sent to the optic nerve. (Note: Optic nerve connects the eye with the brain.)
  • The signals are then transferred to the brain.
  • The brain, then, interprets the electrical signals in such a way that we see an image which is erect and of the same size as the object.
  • Hence, in this process, we perceive objects as they are.
