Involuntary muscles are not controlled by you. These type of muscles work without thinking and are uncontrollable. The best example of an involuntary muscle is Cardiac muscle that is HEART. Imagine if we would be controlling Heart then what would have happened to us during the night time when we are sleeping. So, involuntary muscle continue dong their work when we are not conscious. The involuntary muscles help in reponse to some stimulus for example touching a hot pan, in this case the receptors in our skin sends the alarming signal to the spinal cord which is responsible for taking quick actions via the neurons.
Then the spinal cord send signals to the effectors which are the involuntary muscles.
