McClelland Theory of Motivation :  

According to David McClelland, regardless of culture or gender, people are driven by three motives :

(1) Achievements needs :

Need to achievement is the urge to shine, to grow, to achieve in relation to a set of levels, to achieve success with never give up attitude. It is concerned with taking initiative to find a solution to a particular problem, set goals, and get feedback at every level of success.  

(2) Affiliation needs :  

The need for affiliation is denoted by developing a sense of belonging, teamwork, a concern about open and sociable interpersonal relationships, and reducing uncertainty. It is a want to form a good relationship through common understanding, trust.

(3) Power needs :  

The need for power shows that how a person tries to control other individual's behavior as per his want. In other words, it is the desire to have control over others and to be dominant. This is a need to win under any situation.
