The law of conservation of mass or principle of mass conservation states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy, the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as system's mass cannot change, so quantity cannot be added nor removed. Hence, the quantity of mass is conserved over time

Actually, Law of conservation of Mass states that matter can neither be created nor be destroyed. In other words we can say that, The total mass of products is equal to the mass of reactant in any other Chemical reactions. It means that during chemical reactions mass remains constant.


In order to understand it easily, It can be explained by the following chemical reactions :-


=>CaCo3(heat)->CaO+Co2

=> (40+12+16x3) g -> (40+16+12+16x2) g

=> 100 g = 100 g


Hence, The Law of Conservation of Mass is verified.
