Key features of federalism :-

# There are two or more levels of government

# Different levels of government govern the same citizens.

# The jurisdiction of levels of government is specified in the constitution.

# Changes in the constitution can be made by the concert of each level.

# Sources of revenue of each level of government are clearly specified in the constitution.

# Courts have the power to interpret the power of each level of the government.

# An ideal Federal system has two aspects -
(i) Mutual trust
(ii) Agreement to leave together.

The following are the key features of federalism

1)There are two or more levels of government

2)Different levels of government has its own jurisdiction in specific matters of legislation,taxation and administration.

3)The existence and authority of each level of government is constitutionally governed.

4)The fundamental provisions of constitutionally can't be unilaterally changed by one level of government.

5)The federal system thus has dual objectives to safeguard and promote unity of the country , while at the same time accommodate regional diversity.
