Energy can be defined as the capacity of doing work and it is measured by total quantity of work an object can do.
One form of energy is Kinetic energy.
Kinetic energy- Kinetic energy of an object can be defined as energy which the object possess by virtue of its motion and it is measured by the amount of work that the object can do against an opposing force before it comes to rest.
Examples of kinetic energy-
• Ball rolling in the floor.
• A falling body.
• A sailing boat.
EXPRESSION FOR KINETIC ENERGY-
Let mass of an object be 'm' which is moving with an initial velocity of 'u' on a smooth floor.
Let the normal force being applied on it be 'F' and produce an acceleration 'a'.
Now, 'v' is the final velocity of the object after t moves a distance 's', then from the 3rd law of motion,
v^2-u^2=2as
s= v^2 - u^2/2a [i]
Work done by the body after displacement 's'
W= F×s [ii]
From Newton's second law of motion-
F= ma [iii]
Using equations (1),(2),(3) , we will get,
W= ma × (v^2-u^2/2a)
= m(v^2-u^2)/2 [iv]
If object is at rest initially (u=0) then from equation [iv]
W= m(v^2-0)/2
W= m(v^2)/2
W= 1/2 mv^2
Work stored up in a moving object is called kinetic energy of the object. So,
W= K.E
K.E= 1/2 mv^2
Thus, kinetic energy can also be defined as the half of the product of mass of the object and the square of the speed of the object.
Units of kinetic energy=> joule (J).

Kinetic energy : -
Kinetic energy is the energy of motion, Kinetic energy is the energy an object has because of its motion.
____
Kinetic energy can be transferred between objects and transformed into other kinds of energy. For example, a flying squirrel might collide with a stationary chipmunk.
W =
=. F⋅d
= m⋅a⋅d
________________________
Kinetic Energy
=1 / 2 ⋅m⋅v2^2
________________
Kinetic energy depends on the velocity of the object squared. This means that when the velocity of an object doubles, its kinetic energy quadruples.
__________________
Kinetic energy can be quantified as one half of the mass times the velocity squared
===>>>> (KE = 1/2*m*v²).
