Middle term splitting is done for qudratic equation which is in the form of
Ax^2+bx+c
First u have to multiply a with c and then split b in such a way that its sum is equal to b itself and product is equal to the product of a and c.
Then u have to take common from both sides and solve.
Hope it helped u!

x^2- 5x+ 6=0
if this is the equation, then
STEP 1: multiply 1 and 6. we'll get 6 as the answer.
STEP 2: Find the factors of 6.
factors are 1,2,3,6
STEP 3: take that pair whose sum is the coefficient of x. in this case I'll take 2 and 3
STEP 4: express the equation as
x^2- 2x- 3x+ 6=0
=> x (x-2)- 3 (x-2)=0
=> (x-2) (x-3)=0
STEP 5: x=2 or x=3
