Nuclear reactions ate those in which matter is converted into energy or vice versa by the energy released by nucleus of an atom. It is found that the strong force which keeps the two protons bounded frees during a nuclear reactions results in releasing of energy. For example the nuclear fission reactions in which nucleus is splited and fusion reactions when nucleus of two lighter elements fuses.
