1) Some plants or animals belong to more than one food chain.
     Grass belongs to autotrophs. Grass is eaten by herbivores as well as many insects. So grass belongs to multiple food chains.  Snakes eat lizards, rats and frogs.  Frogs eat grasshoppers and also caterpillars.  Snakes are eaten by hawks. Rats are eaten also by hawks.

     The reason is evolution and preference by selection. It is possible that the supply of one source of food is not available at all times, so the plant or animal developed taste for another food source.

     It is in the genes, DNA of the organisms that they prey on multiple food sources.

2) Consumers cannot produce food on their own. They depend on producers like autotrophs which produce food by themselves. Food (nutrition) is required by all living organisms for getting energy to live on.

3) Deforestation and cutting of trees results in global warming because of increase in harmful gases in the atmosphere. It will reduce the Oxygen content in the air. Noise pollution increases. Rainfall decreases. The land becomes gradually deteriorated and becomes like desert or dry land. Deforestation reduces the water content in the top layer of Earth.
 
4) Air pollution results in respiratory diseases in human beings and animals. The polluted particles in air go into the lungs and so people get T.B. and other diseases. Asthmatic patients suffocate. Air pollution decreases visibility through the air and also makes the air warmer.
