Telangana is a state in India situated on the south-central stretch of the Indian peninsula on the high Deccan Plateau. It is the eleventh-largest state and the twelfth-most populated state in India with a geographical area of 112,077 km2 (43,273 sq mi) and 35,193,978 residents as per 2011 census.

The relief features of a region in Geography means the high altitude areas, mountains, peaks, valleys, low lying areas etc. These relief features divide the main lands into living areas, forests, islands, waste lands, river plains etc. The telangana is on the Deccan plateau.

  • There are many small local reliefs in Telangana of height about 300 m, small summit areas and having steep slopes. There are not any notable valleys in the region. The altitudes of lands (hill tops) in the state range from 500 m to 800 m.

  • The annual rainfall ranges from 900 to 1,500 mm in northern Telangana and 700 to 900 mm in southern Telangana, mostly getting the precipitation from the southwest monsoon.

  • Various soil types are found in Telangana – chalkas, red sandy soils, dubbas, deep red loamy soils, and very deep b.c.soils – that facilitate planting mangoes, oranges and flowers.

  • Summers are very warm to extreme hot and dry, with temperatures often crossing 42-43 degree Celsius.

In geography, a region's relief features include its high-altitude regions, mountains, summits, valley, low-lying areas, etc.

  • The main lands are divided into inhabitable regions, woods, islands, barren lands, stream plains, etcetera. by these relief features. Just on Deccan plateau is  telangana.
  • In Telangana, there are numerous minor local reliefs with steep slopes and a height of roughly 300 m. There are no prominent valleys in the area. The state's land elevations (hilltops) range between 500 meters to 800 meters.
  • The southwest monsoon is primarily responsible for the region's yearly rainfall, which in northern Telangana ranges between 900 to 1,500 millimeters and then in southern Telangana from 700 to 900 millimetres
  • Climate is hot, with temperatures frequently exceeding 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.
