scalar product or dot product of two vectors is defined as product of magniude of two vector.cosine of angle bw two vector

A.B=abcostheta

let a and b be two vector

a.b=b.a

a.a=1 hence i.i=1

a.(b+c)=a.b+a.c

the scalar product of two vectors A and B is a scalar quantity equal to the product of the two vectors and the cosine of the smallest angle between them. The scalar product is commutative ,A×B⇒B×A. When we form the scalar product of two vectors,we multiply the parallel component of the two vectors.
