Like the cerebral cortex, the cerebellum is divided into two hemispheres; it also contains a narrow midline zone called the vermis. A set of large folds are conventionally used to divide the overall structure into the function of cerebrum
The cerebrum is divided into four regions called lobes that control senses, thoughts, and movements. The four lobes are the occipital, temporal, frontal, and parietal lobes. Although each lobe has a different task to perform, they all must work together.

Structure of cerebellum:
Posterior Cranial Fossa is where the cerebellum, the major part of the hind brain is located. Each layer is called a folium. The cerebellum lies inferior to occipital lobe and temporal lobe, within cranial fossa in the back portion of the brain. It composes rigid folded layers of cortex called gray matter. The white matter can be found under the cerebral cortex.
Functions of cerebellum:
- Cerebrocerebellum: It is associated with motor learning and planning movements. Send the response from the red nucleus and thalamus to the input received from the pontie nuclei and cerebral cortex.
- Spinocerebellum: Receives proprioceptive information and regulates the body movements.
- Vestibulocerebellum: Controls the ocular reflexes and balance.
