Explanation:

1)Nitrogen fixation is a process in which atmospheric nitrogen is converted into nitrogen compounds that is nitrates an nitrits.

2) Nitrogen can be fixed by microbes, rhizobium bacteria and blue green algae.

3) Nitrogen fixing bacteria present in the root nodules of leguminous plants fixe by the plants and stored in the plant tissues in the form of plant protein.

4) The stored nitrogen passes from these plants to herbivores, who eat these plants and then to carnivores who ear these herbivores.

5) When plants and animals die nitrogen compounds stored in their body are decomposed and mixed in the soil.

6)Thus, the plants again absorb some of the nitrogen compounds while some of these are converted into atmospherice nitrogen by denitrification bacteria.

Hence the cycle continues.
