Explain the different sources of indian constitution

The makers of constitution did not hesitate in admitting that Constitution of India is not a original document ,but amalgamation of various constitutions all over the world . Constitution of India contains best of all world or at least aims to contain best of all world.Below are the major provisions which are taken from different countries’ constitution.

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ACT,1935-Well a substantial portion of Indian constitution is based on this act .Working of main government machinery based according to this act.Some of them are:-Office of Governor,Judiciary,Public service commission, Administrative functions etc.

BRITISH CONSTITUTION-No doubt this country is major inspiration for us getting constitution. We adopted things like Parliamentary form of Government,Rule of Law,Single citizenship etc. which are the basic elements of our constitution.

AMERICAN CONSTITUTION-One great thing that Indian constitution adopted from American constitution is to have written form of constitution.This was necessary in order to avoid any ambiguity ,given such huge and diverse demographic dividend in India.Other major concepts adopted are Preamble,Fundamental Rights,Supermacy Judiciary,Judicial Review etc.

IRISH CONSTITUTION- Directive principle which are mentioned under section 51 of Indian constitution are adopted from this constitution.

AUSTRALIAN CONSTITUTION-It has provided us with concurrent list .i.e. subjects shared by state as well as center.Freedom of trade and commerce is also adopted from this country constitution only.

GERMANY CONSTITUTION- Emergency provisions like suspension of fundamental rights during emergency is taken from constitution of Germany only.

SOVIET UNION CONSTITUTION-Fundamental duties of citizens of India towards India has been adopted from constitution of Soviet Union.
